Leg cramps during pregnancy are usually caused by an increase in hormones which results in a buildup of body fluids. Even though it hurts, pregnant women can slowly massage their legs and relax the legs that feel cramped. Pregnant women can massage cramped feet using a mixture of essential oils, such as chamomile and lavender.

Another way to reduce leg cramps is to compress it using a bottle containing warm water. This method can reduce tension in the muscles.

  • Drink at least 1.5 liters of water per day.
  • Consume foods that are rich
  • Take a warm bath before bed to reduce muscle tension.
  • Use shoes with a size that is suitable and comfortable to use.
  • Avoid sitting or standing too long.
  • Maintain weight. Excessive weight can increase the risk of leg cramps during pregnancy.
  • Take prenatal vitamins that contain calcium, potassium, and magnesium. However, before taking prenatal vitamins, you should consult your doctor first, pregnant women.
