Changes in Breast Forms of Pregnant Women

Pregnancy causes many changes to a woman's body. One of them is the change in the breasts of pregnant women who often make it uncomfortable. But you don't need to worry because these changes are normal.

The following changes that may occur in the breast of pregnant women:

Changes in the first trimester of pregnancy (1st week to the end of 12th week)
Hormonal changes in the first trimester of pregnancy make blood flow increase and change tissue in the breast. The result may be that your breasts will feel painful, tingling, swollen, and sensitive to the touch. The taste is the same as the condition of the breast before menstruation (pre menstrual syndrome) that occurs in some women. The condition usually begins to feel around four to six weeks of gestation and survives during the first trimester of pregnancy.

The breasts will start to look bigger. In general, breast size increases by one to two cups, especially if this is your first pregnancy. The lines of stretch marks and itching in the breast will appear as the skin widens. This condition usually occurs around six to eight weeks of gestation.

Changes in the second trimester of pregnancy (13th to 26th week)
In the second trimester of pregnancy, the breasts will increase in size and weight. These changes make the blood vessels under the skin appear clearer. The color of the nipple and the area around the nipple turn darker and wider. You might also find small lumps around the nipples.

Around the 14th to 26th week of pregnancy, don't be surprised if you see a yellowish liquid coming out of your nipples. The full liquid nutrient is called colostrum fluid, which is the fluid produced by the breast as a sign that the body is preparing to give milk.

Changes in the third trimester of pregnancy (week 27 to the end of pregnancy)
In the third trimester of pregnancy, especially in the last weeks, the nipples and breasts continue to grow with increasing milk production.

Not all pregnant women experience changes after changes like the conditions above. Changes in the breasts of pregnant women vary depending on each individual. For example, there are women who remove colostrum from their nipples but some do not.
